Circular and Regenerative Pathways to Future-Proof Industries

From agriculture through construction to mobility and energy systems, industries are rethinking how resources are sourced, processed, reused, and preserved. Circular economy principles, regenerative approaches (from resource efficiency to resource regeneration), and lifecycle thinking are becoming relevant across the entire product and service lifespan, opening new opportunities for innovation and competitiveness.

The Polish-Swiss Innovation Day provides a platform for experts, companies, and policymakers from both countries to explore how responsible resource management in design, production, distribution and application can be achieved through cutting-edge technology, innovations, and the collaboration between different stakeholders. The long-term goal: to strengthen industrial resilience, unlock new business models, and support long-term prosperity.

Switzerland, a country with few raw materials, is a world leader in innovation. Its industry has a long-standing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, which are prerequisites of economic resilience. Today, around 10 per cent of Swiss companies are active in the circular economy to a substantial degree.

Via the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Program (SPCP), Switzerland will provide until 2029 funding of over CHF 320 Mio. for two strategic programmes on urban development as well as research & innovation. In both programmes, there are links to circular economy issues, which contribute to reducing social and economic disparities in Poland, promote bilateral cooperation and strengthen knowledge exchange.

Poland views the circular economy as a strategic tool to strengthen industrial competitiveness, reduce dependence on imported raw materials, and support the green transformation of the economy.
